NEWS: APS Participates in National Academy of Sciences Panel
Applied Physical Sciences was invited to participate in a workshop examining the Science and Technology Enterprise in Naval Engineering held in Washington, D.C. on January 13-14, 2010. The objective of this meeting, organized by the Transportation Research Board of the National Academy of Sciences, was to provide information to the committee about the status of S&T activities supporting naval engineering in the United States in the 21st century. Dr. Bill Milewski presented APS perspectives on the existing S&T infrastructure related to the effectiveness of research initiatives and education in the fields of naval architecture, ship design, and signatures.
