Parameter Estimation and Tracking Algorithms
For most automated sensing and control applications, it is necessary to maintain the history of target states and to robustly anticipate its state changes in order to fulfill the surveillance or control mission.  APS has developed target state parameter estimation techniques and target tracking algorithms to meet the challenges of a diverse set of sensor applications.  Application software developed at APS has been demonstrated in challenging tracking environments that include high speed maneuvering targets, highly clutter limited target tracking and multiple target environments.



Examples of systems and applications utilizing APS developed parameter estimation and tracking algorithm software include:

     Active sonar systems for anti-submarine warfare
     Port and near-shore critical infrastructure protection swimmer detection
     Multi-static radar applications for urban surveillance
     In-stride mine avoidance using the hull mounted surfaces ship sonar
