Charles Corrado
President, Chief Operating Officer

Charles Corrado, President and one of the founders of APS, received his Ph.D. in Acoustics from MIT in 1993 and his B.S. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute in 1983.  He has been actively involved in the development of advanced acoustic systems and marine vehicle machinery silencing projects since 1986.  He has led the development of several state of the art vibration and acoustic radiation predictions methods for the Office of Naval Research.  These methods are recognized for their exploitation of the underlying physics to yield significant gains in computational efficiency.   He has also led a number of initiatives to take advantage of novel sensor array processing schemes to discern acoustic scattering processes, image sources of radiation and target strength, localize gunfire and other impulsive noise sources, and quantify acoustic source mechanisms.   Prior to founding APS he served as Vice President and Chief Scientist at the Anteon Engineering Technology Center.

Robert Gorman
Chief Executive Officer

Robert Gorman, CEO and one of the founders of APS, received his PhD in Acoustical Engineering from Penn State in 1974; and, his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in 1963.  He has been actively involved in programs involving marine vehicle vibration control and structural acoustics throughout his career. From 1988 through 2002, he was a Senior Vice President of Anteon Corp (Formerly A&T Inc) and Business Unit Manager of their Engineering and Information Technology Division.  Prior to that (1978 - 1988) he was a Divisional Vice President of BBN Technologies and Manager of their New London office.  He began his career in 1963 at the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics as an engineer and left there in 1978 as Engineering Chief of their Acoustical Engineering and Trials Section.

David Horne
Senior Vice President
Chief Financial Officer

David Horne, Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer of APS received his MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has a BA in Economics from the University of Rhode Island. David brings over 20 years of experience in government contracting and accounting to APS.   In his role as Vice President/Business Manager, he is responsible for the company’s financial management, control, reporting and planning; contract and risk management; purchasing; and benefits and human resource management. He has been with APS since its inception.  His goal has been to create an administrative infrastructure with an employee-friendly small-company feel but which is scalable as APS grows to meet new challenges. Prior to joining APS, David served as a Vice President and Business Manager of $140M and 900 person business unit of Anteon Corporation where he supervised a group of over 25 professional and administrative personnel in functions similar to his current responsibilities at APS.

Jude Nitsche
Senior Vice President
Director of Business Development

As the Corporate Director of Business Development, Mr Nitsche is responsible for establishing and executing the company's overall business development strategy. He also provides technical and management leadership for the development of high-risk, high-payoff programs in direct response to critical national needs. In this latter regard, he has a long history of successfully working with the Defense Advanced Research Agency (DARPA) in the development and conduct of undersea warfare programs. These programs have typically involved the use of distributed sensors coupled with automated signal and information processing and the conduct of complex tests designed to demonstrate system performance in the harsh environment of their intended operational use. Prior to joining APS in 2005, Mr Nitsche was as executive with BBN Technologies where he was Vice President and Director of Sensor Systems and Technologies and managed BBN's Washington Operations for over thirty years. He holds graduate engineering degrees in Fluid Dynamics and High-Speed Gas Dynamics from The Catholic University of America and the University of Rochester, respectively. As a technical contributor, he has authored or co-authored over thirty papers and presentations published in various technical journals.  He has served as an Adjunct Lecturer (Acoustics, Signal Processing and Advanced Sonar Design) and as Chairman of the School of Engineering's Board of Visitors at The Catholic University of America. He is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and a Life Senior Member of the IEEE.
