In FY07 and FY08, under Phase II HSARPA funding, APS will continue development of a multistatic active sonar system for swimmer and diver detection. The system features groups of inexpensive, but highly capable acoustic nodes, wired to a central shore-based processor and control station. The in-water transducer arrays were demonstrated in Phase I and features one of the highest frequency vector sensors ever used in an active sonar.

APS is also developing the sonar signal processing, data fusion and tracking software for this system.
