Senior Systems Analyst / Engineer
Applied Physical Sciences, Corp. (APS) is seeking a highly motivated individual with expertise in Meteorology and Oceanography systems, including application and operations in Undersea Warfare (USW) including Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Strategic Systems, and Mine Warfare (MIW).
The successful applicant will have expertise in geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, acoustics, bathymetry (side-scan, hull mounted multi-beam sonars and LIDAR), remote sensing, scientific applications programming, image and signal processing, database design, statistics and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). A thorough understanding of DoD policy, planning, programming, and budgetary processes is essential. The position includes management of special projects, developing plans and priorities, and evaluating technological solutions for Naval Oceanography operations.
Successful candidates will have a BS or more advanced degree in engineering, computer science, and/or applied mathematics/physics and at least 15 years’ experience with excellent project leadership skills. The position will involve working with engineers in the development of advanced technologies for US Navy, DoD, and other maritime applications.
• BS/MS/PhD in an engineering, computer science, and/or applied mathematics/physics field • Highly proficient in project and program management • Experience and detailed knowledge of US DoD acquisition processes • Willing and able to travel
